Unsure at this time, maybe a year or two just going with the flow at this time, hoping that housing will be permanent.

1.  Describe the events that made you leave your previous home?  What happened to your home?  What happened to your neighborhood?

Mandatory evacuation of Orleans parish is why I left my previous home.  My home has been destroyed as my knowledge grows.  I'm sure that my neighborhood is vacant and there's no one currently there.

2.  When you left your home, where did you go?  How did you travel?

When I and my family evacuated we went to Mississippi by car with extended family.

3.  What agencies have helped you?  (Red Cross, FEMA, Salvation Army)  How has that experience been?

Red Cross, FEMA, My experience with these two organizations have been ok.  But I wonder what will happen later may 6 months from now we are still unable to return to New Orleans


Phenomenal Women has been a positive influence for my family. We finally have somewhere stable to consider as home for right now.

4.  How did you arrive at your current home?  Who helped you find your home?

Phenomenal Women help to find our home with sincere dedication and loyalty.

5.  Did you stay at a shelter or transitional center before you moved into your current home?  If yes, what was that like?

Yes, a hotel, the experience was very uncomfortable and stressful but also a safe haven for my family.

6.  What has been easy in the transition?  What good experiences have you had?

Nothing, I have met some wonderful people who have been great shoulders and have also become good friends.

7.  What has been difficult in the transition?

Stability, as far as resources and schools also financial affordable housing programs but things are beginning to get better thanks to Phenomenal Women.

Yes, a job, winter coats and winter shoes.
