Hurricane Katrina flooded out our dwelling, New Orleans, LA home was destroyed.

2.  When you left your home, where did you go?  How did you travel?

We were relocated to a southeastern, LA shelter

3.  What agencies have helped you?  (Red Cross, FEMA, Salvation Army)  How has that experience been?

Red Cross, FEMA only. Funds has been few and far between.

4.  How did you arrive at your current home?  Who helped you find your home?


5.  Did you stay at a shelter or transitional center before you moved into your current home?  If yes, what was that like?

It was very stressful due to the large number of evacuees.

6.  What has been easy in the transition?  What good experiences have you had?

Being prayed for by so many religious people. The good experiences were going out to the New York Giants football game and the concert given by Branford Marcelious in Bloomfield.

7.  What has been difficult in the transition?

Being unemployed and also having to assist my disabled son, Tyrone Jr.
